Week Seven: 7/8/19-7/14/19:
Doing my own accounting homework is like driving and talking on a cell phone. It’s possible, but probably not a good idea. I’m doing my best to be honest without any formal business training. I started #OccupyFamilyGuy as a way to gain a celebrity endorsement for #AStarForCarrie. I only need one signature to make that happen. Seth MacFarlane. I hope he signs BOTH petitions today 🙂
Week Six: 7/1/19-7/7/19:
I got a loan from a family member that made week 6 happen. I’m extremely grateful to my Uncle Michael for believing in me enough to lend me the money, but that’s rapidly dwindling. I need more people to believe in the almost 300 hours worth of work I’ve put into this project so I can hire more creative people to make a difference! Please Donate! The #AStarForCarrie project hasn’t been easy, but I haven’t given up hope.
Week Five: 6/24/19-6/30/19
It’s been a rough week. My mental health hasn’t been great. Working on #AStarForCarrie is the only thing that keeps me sane enough to function. I can’t keep doing this alone. I want to hire more employees not only because I need the help, not only because there are a TON of creative people in LA who need a living wage, but because using creativity to make a difference makes you WANT to survive. I want to give that chance to others. In order to keep going, I need people to DONATE. I need enough grassroots supporters (or one Star Wars fan with a little under $5k to spare) to invest in the work I’ve already put into the #AStarForCarrie project so that I can hire more cosplaying petitioners to make positive changes in the world. I haven’t given up hope, please don’t give up on me!
Week Four: 6/17/19-6/23/19
It’s been a rough week. You don’t method act as Carrie Fisher without meeting both “Roy” and “Pam”. My mental health wasn’t going all that great and I had a dispute with a landlord that kept me confined to my apartment, unable to be out on Hollywood Boulevard, which is where I really wanted to be. I kept working as hard as possible for #AStarForCarrie, not just for me, not just to get Carrie the LONG overdue recognition she deserves, but for all those little kids who look up to me in those buns. They deserve to know that Leia is equal to Luke. Please DONATE so I can keep working on #AStarForCarrie!
Week Three: 6/10/19-6/16/19
I am $2,795 in debt to myself. I’m not doing this for the money. I’m doing this for the little girls who look up at me in those buns, I put my hands on my hips and I say “I was born a Princess, but I worked HARD to become a General.” They give me a knowing smile and a nod. Carrie’s star will be a symbol of brilliant women receiving the same honors as men, even if we have to struggle, starve and fight for it. If I can’t raise enough to live, I can’t keep the #whereiscarriefisher project going. Please Donate!
Week Two: 6/2/2019-6/9/2019:
I have stopped putting costume laundry on the expense report (and I will be taking that out of my own pay, as well as costume components I’ve bought) because when I hire employees, it will be their responsibility to keep their costume clean and presentable to the public. Other than that, the only requirement for a costume is that it can’t be completely store-bought. Creative elements must be added! That’s the beauty of cosplay, anyone can be ANYTHING! Please Donate!
Week One: 5/24/19-6/1/19:
