Public Performance Art Petition Project / NonProfit StartUp / Courtroom Drama
Los Angeles, CA: Since May 24th, 2019, Imagination for Sale, LLC Writer / CEO Kristin Grady has been cosplaying Princess Leia on Hollywood Boulevard while petitioning for #AStarForCarrie, which as of 09/26/19, has 3,424 signatures. #AStarForCarrie is more than just a petition imploring the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to award Carrie Fisher a posthumous Star on the Walk of Fame.
#AStarForCarrie project goals include founding a nonprofit where cosplayers get paid a living wage to petition for Women’s Rights. Celebrity fans of Carrie Fisher’s have signed the petition, such as Kevin Smith and Pauly Shore. Kristin Grady was on Kevin Smith’s Smodcast on June 18th, 2019, talking about the #AStarForCarrie project (formerly #WhereIsCarrieFisher). #OccupyFamilyGuy: A sub-project of #AStarForCarrie, is a petition suggesting the producers of Family Guy hire an All-Female writing staff for one episode of next season, in honor of Carrie Fisher’s highly influential writing talent.
Kristin Grady was arrested for trespassing on a public sidewalk outside the office of Fuzzy Door Productions on July 22nd, 2019. Kristin was tweeting about #OccupyFamilyGuy and spent three days in jail. The next trial date for this misdemeanor charge is set for October 15th, 2019 at LAX Courthouse. Miss Grady has pleaded not guilty and hopes for a peaceful resolution before that date.
“Going to jail has not deterred my goals. #OccupyFamilyGuy will be a masterpiece episode and I promised all the fans who signed the #AStarForCarrie petition they could visit Princess Leia’s star, knowing their signatures made a difference.” – Kristin Grady
On behalf of Imagination for Sale, Kristin Grady has reached out to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Seth MacFarlane, sending digital copies of the #AStarForCarrie and #OccupyFamilyGuy petitions. Kristin continues to collect fan signatures on both petitions while cosplaying Princess Leia in Hollywood Square and the Venice Beach Boardwalk, writing about her experiences on imaginationforsale.blog.
“It won’t be long before the sheer volume of signatures renders these causes impossible to ignore.” -Kristin Grady
